Mischa Barton pink tights to play pregnant prostitute
Mischa Barton has channelled some seriously strange outfits in recent months - but shocking pink tights teamed with a floral minidress and leopard-print coat really tops the lot.
Still, the former OC actress can be forgiven for her sartorial slip-up this time - she was in character, playing a pregnant prostitute.
The 23-year-old was caught by photographers mid-way through filming scenes for the American TV series Law and Order: SVU in New York's Meatpacking district.
Hollywood heavyweight Sharon Stone has also been roped in for a cameo appearance on the show.
While Mischa will play a hooker called Gladys, Sharon will play an ex-cop turned prosecutor over four episodes.
According to programme sources, Mischa turns to Detective Benson, played by Mariska Hargitay, for help in a life-or-death decision.
Her decision to appear in the TV show appears to be something of a u-turn for Mischa, who had vowed to pursue 'more serious roles'.
Just four months ago she said: 'I think I need to back away from the whole TV approach.
'That whole world of network television probably isn't, for me, a good idea now. I need to start reading for more serious roles.
'I want to go fighting for interesting things and look for something that's going to be interesting for me.'
Her declaration came shortly after the cancellation of her latest series, The Beautiful Life.
The show, which was produced by Demi Moore's husband Ashton Kutcher, was dropped in September after just two episodes due to poor ratings.

Mischa Barton Braless heads for new TV show
Since leaving the care of a psychiatric until for alleged drug problems actress Mischa Barton, 23, has thrown herself back into her work.
But maybe she's in a bit too much of a hurry, as the busy actress was seen hurrying along a New York street in a black vest without her bra.
Mischa dashed to work on the set of The Beautiful Life clutching an iced fruit drink.
But her sheer T-shirt revealed a distinct lack of undergarment, and left very little to the imagination.
Mischa plays a drug addict model in the show, and yesterday filmed scenes where she looked back to her glamorous best.
The OC star was all smiles and looked much healthier than she did a few weeks ago when she appeared bloated at the launch of Harrods summer sale.
But although she Mischa appears to be back to a clean bill of health, friends of the star, who has been seen this week filming scenes for the show created by actor Ashton Kutcher, have accused her of not taking her rehabilitation seriously.
Kutcher and his wife Demi Moore visited leading lady Mischa on set. The couple then headed off for lunch together at a Manhattan restaurant where they were in good spirits.
Last month Mischa was placed under involuntary psychiatric care at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles. But days after her release she was seen partying in New York.
A source told Heat magazine: 'The fact she was out right away proves she’s not taking things seriously enough. It was like a big ‘f*** you’. She’s too proud and independent sometimes.'
While friend, Suzanne Coppin, said: 'I’m disappointed she’s not taking advice and doing her own thing.'

Actress Mischa Barton appeared to be losing her battle with cellulite as she took a walk with her two dogs Charlie and Ziggy in Los Angeles.
The 22-year-old actress – sporting a red floral dress - revealed her dimpled thighs during the early-morning stroll.
The former O.C’s star’s representative has previously claimed that paparazzi photos showing her legs dimpled with cellulite while sunbathing were retouched.
But recent pictures of the star seem to indicate that she is indeed a victim of the dreaded-condition which affects millions of women.
Down-to-earth Mischa has been unfazed by the fuss caused by her curves.
'My boyfriend (rocker Taylor Locke) loves them. So whatever works!', said Barton.
'I eat really healthy, I work out.
'We work out and we eat healthy and we do what we do, I feel very comfortable. I come from a European family that’s always very comfortable with their bodies.
'Everybody has things that they are conscious of that they don’t like, but any girl — I talk about this with my girlfriends all the time.
'You are what you are as a woman.'
'I’ve never claimed to have a perfect body, but it is what it is.
'I have a woman’s body. I have hips and boobs so it goes straight there, which I don’t mind because it gives me curves.'

Actress Mischa Barton certainly made the most of her time at the beach, as she canoodled with musician boyfriend Taylor Locke.
The star looked svelte in a colourful bikini, and sported a natural make-up free look as she spent the afternoon on Venice Beach, Los Angeles, kissing and cuddling dark-haired Locke, guitarist of rock band Rooney.
The pair have been dating since earlier this year, and it looks like they're going pretty steady.
Free-spirited Mischa recently spoke about her love life, telling the US edition of Marie Claire: 'I’m lucky to know you can have more than one soul mate in life.
'But, like a true actress, I’m always changing the way I feel about who I want to be. Nowadays, I feel I’m settling more into a woman and I’m understanding who I am.'

But unfortunately it revealed the actress' rather dimpled thighs as she arrived for brunch at a Hollywood restaurant.

I really don’t understand how such a skinny girl like her has so much cellulite. Well, maybe is because she sits on her ass all day long doing nothing.
